Rice is a staple in many kitchens around the world. From white rice to red rice to wild rice, there are a number of varieties, each suited to different flavorings and dishes. Whether it's the base for a curry or the star of the show, as in fried rice or paella, it's a versatile ingredient that will never let you down. Plus there's no special equipment needed to whip up a pot of rice. Just use a 2:1 water to rice ratio, bring it to a bowl, then reduce heat and let simmer until all the water has been absorbed!
