Southeast Asian Cuisine

All the complex flavors and freshness of southeast asian cuisine

A Note From Vy Tran

In recent years, both chefs and home cooks have become fascinated with Southeast Asian cuisine due to its complex flavors and freshness. Most of the food are made from scratch with recipes handed down through generations. Many dishes carry sweet, sour, salty, spicy, and umami flavors all in one bite. Lemongrass, tamarind, chillies, galangal, ginger, curry, and turmeric are some of the ingredients prominent in these recipes. Get ready to be inspired by what the feedfeed community is creating in their kitchen!

Singapore Crab Tang Hoon

Crab Tang Hoon is a wildly popular zichar dish in Singapore. All you need is some confidence and everyone can whip up this luxuriously delicious dish in the comfort of your homes! Cooking this dish is simple, we first stir fry the Tang Hoon for it to absorb some fragrance from the aromatics and retain its springy texture. The MAGIC happens when crabs and Tang Hoon are combined together in a clay pot. All the natural juices of the fresh crabs are absorbed into the Tang Hoon, making it full of flavour. It’s a slightly messy yet awesome dish to eat, switch between the juicy crabs and slurping the Tang Hoon.

Cambodian Inspired Veggie Stir Fry

Hey guys, about to sign off for the weekend and thought it was time for a savoury post. This is just a simple brown rice noodle stir fry. All vegan of course. I tried to make it Cambodian inspired after our trip to south east Asia last year. I'm not sure if I did it justice but it was yummy none the less. This was one of the very first recipes I put up on the blog along with a few photos from Cambodia (back when I thought I'd be filling my blog with travel photos) still really love this photo and I don't really eat Asian all that often so I thought it would be worth a re share ☺️I'm pleased to say that even though I still have a pesky cough I'm feeling much better today , my appetite has returned and I was able to do some experimenting in the kitchen!
