The humble tomato can often go overlooked, and that’s fair enough when it comes to the pale, uniform-sized, and tasteless fruit that we tend to find in the supermarket. A good tomato, however, grown in season and with care, can truly be one of the most delicious things mother nature has to offer. From Beef Steak to Early Girl and everything in between, there are a heap of varieties out there, each with their own unique colors and taste. Typically, you’ll find the best of the bunch at your local farmer’s market. Whether you like to keep it simple with some heirloom slices on toast or pull out a can from last season's bounty to make your family's bolognese, we want to see what delicious recipes you’re whipping up with these vibrant gems.

Today was meatless Monday for me, so I made pizza. It was a last minute dinner plan as I wasn't able to go grocery shopping today. That's when I remembered I had pizza dough in the freezer and had just picked a bunch of fresh vegetables from my neighbor's garden. So, pizza it was, with a giant salad as a side. All the toppings(minus the cheese)were straight from the garden. I soaked the bell pepper and zucchini in balsamic vinegar, then piled on the salt and pepper along with those delicious tomato slices. I then added some fresh oregano and basil from the garden. It had all the tastes of summer and it was oh so delicious.

**The recipe used for this post is linked below - Just add in a can of chickpeas that has been roasted in the oven for 5-10 minutes at 300 degrees Fahrenheit in a mixture of olive oil and smoked paprika to top the dish.
