Have you ever heard the saying, "Down home cooking"? Well, having grown up in the south myself, I can truly say that southern food tastes like home. And if you're looking to find comfort in food, then you will definitely find it in the south. Southern Food spans as far west as Texas, all the way up to Maryland, east to the Carolina's, and all the way down to Florida. One great thing about southern food is that, there's heavy influences that come from African, English, Scottish, Irish, French, and Native American cultures. So get your taste buds ready, loosen up that belt buckle a notch or put on your comfy pants, because you're in store for a real treat!

Shrimp and canellini beans spicy hand pies with cilantro and fried garlic yoghurt sauce. When is cold and all you want is a yummy buttery pastry filled with your favorite things in this case a mix of fried shallots, garlic, onion, red chili, canellini beans and shrimps, with lemon zest and a touch of butter for extra flavor then fill your puff pastry with this delicious mixture and bake until golden and crispy, serve with a cooling but tasty fried garlic, cilantro and Greek yoghurt sauce, and why not get those cold beers since is Friday! Chicken Fried Steak Fingers with Creole Dipping Sauce & Honey? Sign me up! Twice. That said, the spicy savory goodness here will overwhelm most wines you pour in your glass. Be Dollar Smart & still Delicious: Opt for a less expensive dry, crisp white like steel-fermented Chardonnay or Sauvignon Blanc (non-grassy.) The tighter textures in both wines will lend a nice counter point to such moist, mouthwatering chicken fried perfectly by @spicysouthernkitchen

Sweet Potato Burgers With Chipotle Mayo

sweet potato burgers with chipotle mayo: Happy Wednesday! Thanks to everyone for tuning in over the weekend and following our adventures at the Netflix after-party for the Golden Globes! We’ve just about recovered and these burgers have helped nurse us back to reality. Here, sweet potatoes are roasted in the oven until caramelized and bubbly. Combined with smooth cannellini beans, and seasoned with fresh cilantro, chopped scallions, parmesan cheese and spiced with garlic, ginger, smoked paprika, and cumin, the tanginess from the lime juice and zest also colors this bright orange mixture with lively speckles of jade green. Formed into patties and coated in panko bread crumbs, they are sautéed until deeply browned and delightfully crispy, then topped with an addicting homemade chipotle mayo for a smoky spicy kick. Add the traditional lettuce, tomato, onions, and slices of avocado, and let the sweet potato burger revolution begin.
