Simple Creamy Tomato Sauce with Pasta

  • 6 ounces dried pasta
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 onion, finely diced
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 (14.5 ounce) can Tuttorosso Petite Diced Tomatoes
  • 1 tablespoon Tuttorosso Tomato Paste with Sweet Basil
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 cup half & half
  • 2 tablespoons salted butter
  • Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • Fresh parsley, for garnish


  • Step 1

    Prepare the pasta according to the package directions. Drain and set aside.

  • Step 2

    Add olive oil, onion, and garlic to a large pan or skillet over medium-high heat. Sauté until soft and translucent, about 5 minutes.

  • Step 3

    Add dried basil, dried oregano, salt, and pepper. Sauté for 1-2 minutes.

  • Step 4

    Add Tuttorosso Petite Diced Tomatoes and Tuttorosso Tomato Paste with Sweet Basil. Combine thoroughly. Simmer for about 5 minutes or until most of the liquid has cooked off

  • Step 5

    Remove pan from the heat. Stir in half & half and butter, followed by the cooked pasta. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

  • Step 6

    Serve with fresh parsley and parmesan cheese.
