I’ll be real with you: I’m a good girl. I never have been and never will be wild. I enjoy the occasional glass of wine but I am not a drinker (I like to keep it classy, you know?) I was recently at Gramercy Tavern’s bar room in New York with a group of friends. As I scanned the extensive wine, beer and spirits list I stopped on the section entitled “non-alcoholic” and decided to go for this gem: the GINGER SWIZZLE. When it came to our table it looked like something straight out of my dreams. A ton of ice, bubbly ginger soda, and dozens of mint leaves muddled and brimming over the edge of the glass. The flavor was intensely refreshing. And guess what: I drank four in a row. Zero limitations. At that moment I stopped and thought to myself: why should the under aged, pregnant women and those who choose to be sober miss out on all the fun and pretty drinks?! Since then, I’ve made it my mission to bring delicious and healthy “mocktails” to the table. I like to replace the alcohol with things like 100% fruit juice, healthy energy drinks or kombucha. After cutting alcohol and exercising daily, I see and feel the difference in my body and mood. Try it out!
