Barista Tips & Tricks
Froth Milk Like a Pro: For the perfect froth, use cold milk straight from the fridge and a handheld frother or French press. Heat your milk first (but don't boil it), then froth until it doubles in volume for that creamy, café-style texture.
Grind Fresh: The key to a great cup of coffee starts with the right grind. For drip coffee, aim for a medium grind. For espresso, go finer. Freshly ground beans always yield the best flavor, so consider grinding just before brewing.
Brew Tea at the Right Temperature: Different teas require different water temperatures. For green tea, aim for 175°F; for black tea, go for 200°F; and for herbal teas, use boiling water. This helps to bring out the best flavors without over-steeping.
Steeping: Over-steeping can lead to bitterness. Green tea should steep for 2-3 minutes, black tea for 3-5 minutes, and herbal teas for 5-7 minutes. Use a timer to get it just right!
