Pizza Sauce
ingredients
- 1 can Red Gold whole peeled tomatoes
- 1 can Tomato Love Sriracha
- 1 tablespoon Red Gold tomato paste
- 1 teaspoon olive oil
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt, plus more to taste
Pizza
ingredients
- 1 store bought pizza dough
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella
- 1/2 cup shredded white cheddar
- 4 slices Canadian bacon, quartered
- 3 scallions, thinly sliced
- Sriracha for serving (optional)
Method
Step 1
Place a pizza stone or steel in your oven and preheat to 500°F. Let the oven preheat for a full hour.
Step 2
Add the tomatoes and tomato paste to a food processor and pulse to combine. Pour the sauce into a bowl and add the garlic, olive oil and salt. Taste and adjust seasoning.
Step 3
Stretch the pizza dough to a 12-14 inch circle. Spread the sauce on the dough and then add the cheese and Canadian bacon.
Step 4
With a dusted pizza peel, transfer the pizza to the oven and bake for 6-8 minutes, turning once. Broil for an additional 1 minute.
Step 5
Let the pizza cool on a rack before slicing. Sprinkle with scallions and serve with sriracha if desired.
