Brownie Bites with Nutella

  • 1/2 + 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
  • 1 large egg, at room temperature
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon water, at room temperature
  • 1/2 teaspoon instant coffee or espresso powder
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder, sifted
  • Heavy pinch of kosher salt
  • 1/2 cup all purpose flour, sifted
  • 1/4 cup Nutella®


  • Step 1

    Preheat oven to 350F degrees. Grease an 8x8 inch square pan.

  • Step 2

    In a bowl, whisk the powdered sugar and egg. Whisk in oil, water, instant coffee, cocoa powder, and salt.

  • Step 3

    Finally, sift in the all purpose flour and fold it in the batter with a spatula.

  • Step 4

    Pour the batter into a prepared pan. Bake for 25-30 minutes.

  • Step 5

    Let it cool for an hour and then slice it 4x4 with a sharp knife. [Note: Wipe off the residue from the knife with a warm wet towel in between slicing.]

  • Step 6

    Add Nutella to a piping bag with a small round nozzle (optional) and decorate brownie bites with zig-zag diagonal lines.
