  • 2 1/2 cups all purpose flour
  • 1/3 ground flaxseed
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • pinch kosher salt
  • 3 ripe bananas
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup softened butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/2 cup maple syrup, plus more for serving
  • Nutella, for serving

Method

  • Step 1

    Preheat the oven to 350 degrees and grease a (8 ½ or 9 ½ inch) loaf pan.

  • Step 2

    In a small bowl whisk together flour, ground flax seed, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Set aside.

  • Step 3

    In a large bowl mash bananas, add eggs, butter, vanilla and maple. Light beat till everything is evenly combined.

  • Step 4

    Fold in the dry ingredients until evenly combined. Pour batter into prepared loaf pan and place in the oven for 45-55 minutes on the center rack until a knife comes out clean and bread is golden.

  • Step 5

    Let cool completely. Slice and serve with Nutella and maple syrup.
