My sweet tooth rarely craves purely sweet things. It’s almost always a mixture of salty and sweet, which breaks up the cloyingly sugary taste that can sometimes sit in your mouth uncomfortably. While I was looking for a little treat to make at FeedfeedBrooklyn, I stumbled across Megan Neveu’s (@olivesnthyme) recipe for Salted Tahini Fudge. I’ve been on a tahini kick lately (me and the rest of the world) and I love using it in not only savory applications, but sweet as well. The idea of mixing luscious chocolate with the rich sesame seed paste and then piling it all on top of an almond flour crust had me swooning! It also includes the aforementioned salty addition, with a heavy smattering of crunchy salt on top.
This dessert was exactly what I needed to quench my confectionary craving. I also loved the fact that it was gluten free! It’s nice to know I can bring it to a party and allow all of my friends to enjoy it, no matter what.
