Guinness Whiskey Cocktail

(51)
"Brand new Guinness recipe (below) just in time for St. Patty's Day! Inspired by my massive nostalgia for 'Irish Potato' candy (if you're from the Philly area, you know what this is -- if not, you can read about it at the link in my profile), this Guinness cocktail skews toward the sweeter side and incorporates coconut and cinnamon flavors that pair shockingly well with the smooth, roasty, chocolate notes and creamy texture of the beer. Oh, and I added some Irish whiskey because… duh."

For the Cocktail

ingredients

  • 7 ounces Guinness beer
  • 1 ounces Irish whiskey
  • 1/2 an ounce cream of coconut
  • 1/2 an ounce cinnamon syrup
  • 3 dashes angostura bitter

For the Cocktail

Method

  • Step 1

Combine the whiskey, cream of coconut, cinnamon syrup, and bitters in a cocktail shaker with ice. In a tall cocktail glass, gently pour 7 ounces of Guinness. Gently slide 3-4 ice cubes into the beer (tilting the glass makes this easier). Shake the contents of the cocktail shaker, then pour into glass with beer and ice. Garnish with clover and drink with a straw.
