A char is born! This smoky Charred Lemon Daisy made with Don Julio Tequila Blano is the tequila drink you'll make again and again this season! The zesty charred lemons elevate and balance out a deep smoky flavor for a delicious well rounded cocktail. You are bound to impress your guests with this simple trick.
For the Cocktail:
- 2 ounces Don Julio Tequila Blanco
- 1 ounce charred lemon juice, (recipe below)
- 3/ 4 ounce agave syrup
- Fresh charred lemon wedges, as needed, recipe below
- Black salt, for garnish
- Fresh red chile, sliced, for garnish
Rub lemon wedge around the rim of a cocktail glass and rim with black salt.
Add Don Julio Tequila Blanco, charred lemon juice and agave syrup to an ice-filled cocktail shaker.
Close the shaker and shake vigorously for 2 minutes. Double strain the cocktail into the prepared cocktail glass filled with ice. Garnish with charred lemon, chiles and serve immediately.
For the Charred Lemons:
- 4 lemons, halved
Heat a medium-sized cast-iron skillet until smoky, add lemons cut side down and cook for 4 minutes, or until charred. Remove from heat and squeeze the juice of three lemons into a container to use as juice. Reserve remaining lemons to use as garnish.
