  • 8 ounces fresh broccoli (3 cups chopped)
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup finely grated parmesan cheese
  • 1 minced small clove garlic
  • 1/2 teaspoon Kosher salt, plus more to taste
  • A pinch of red pepper flakes or several grinds of black pepper
  • Olive or vegetable oil for frying
