Quick Sushi Rice

ingredients

  • 500 g Sushi Rice
  • 500 ml Water
  • 2 tbsp Sushi Rice Vinegar sweetened
  • 2 tbsp Sugar
  • 1 tbsp Salt

Method

  • Step 1

    Put the rice in a sieve and rinse well until the water is clear. It is best to run your fingers through the rice so that all the grains get wet.

  • Step 2

    Put the rice in the pan and add the water. Bring to a boil, then turn the heat to the lowest setting and put the lid on. Simmer for 15 minutes, then remove from heat but leave lid on for another 10 minutes.

  • Step 3

    Meanwhile, gently heat the Rice Vinegar, sugar, and salt in a small saucepan until the sugar has melted (can also be done in the microwave) then mix with the rice and allow the rice to cool completely.
