Warm bowls of oatmeal in the morning are one of the reasons we get out of bed. You can easily customize them with whatever flavors and mix-ins you like. Right now, we're loving the seasonal addition of blood orange juice! Oats are naturally gluten-free, but if you're allergic or celiac, just make sure to buy certified GF oats!

ingredients

  • 3/4 cup rolled oats
  • 3/4 cup plus 1 tablespoon water
  • 6 1/2 tablespoons non-dairy milk
  • 2 teaspoons maple syrup
  • splash vanilla extract
  • pinch salt
  • 1 blood orange, juiced
  • Blood orange, sliced, for serving
  • Quinoa puffs, for garnish

Method

  • Step 1

    Cook the oats, water, milk, maple syrup, vanilla and salt in a pot on the stove for about 5 minutes, until the liquid is absorbed and the oats are creamy and thick. Remove from the heat and mix in the blood orange juice.

  • Step 2

    Serve in a bowl or jar with blood orange slices and quinoa puffs.
