Serves or Makes: 4
- 3/ 4 cup cooked chickpeas
- 2 cloves garlic, chopped
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1/ 2 cup oats
- 2 tablespoons flax seeds, mixed with 5 tablespoons water
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- 1/ 2 cup sesame seed
- Oil, for cooking
Process all ingredients except sesame seeds and oil in a small mixer or food processor until a chunky dough forms. Let the dough rest for 30 minutes.
Form the dough into gold ball sized rounds then flatten into a patty. Roll each patty in sesame seeds. Heat oil over medium-heat in a pan, add the patties and cook until golden and crispy, about 3 minutes per side.
