Lay a block of feta in the pan, then drizzle generously with a garlic and herb-spiked honey and bake until charred and melted. Homemade pita chips with za'atar spice blend bake at the same time as the feta, maximizing your oven time and cleanup time. ingredients
- Olive oil
- 1 (8-ounce) block feta cheese, patted dry
- 1/4 cup honey
- 2 cloves garlic, peeled and chopped
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh chives
- Red pepper flakes, (optional)
- 4 pita breads, cut into triangles
- 2 tablespoons za'atar spice blend
- Kosher salt
Method
Step 1
Arrange oven racks to the top third and the bottom third of the oven. Preheat oven to 425F degrees. Line a cast-iron skillet and a baking sheet with sheets of If You Care Parchment Paper.
Step 2
Combine honey, garlic, red pepper flakes, and chives in a small bowl.
Step 3
Drizzle a little olive oil onto the parchment, then set feta on top. Spoon honey mixture over feta and set aside.
Step 4
Toss pita on the prepared baking sheet with a drizzle of olive oil, za'atar spice blend, and a pinch of salt until well coated.
Step 5
Roast feta on the upper rack of the oven and the pita chips on the lower rack for 15 minutes. Remove pita chips and continue to bake feta for another 10-15 minutes, until charred and melty.
Step 6
Serve warm with toasted pita chips.
