How to Break Down a Butternut Squash

My Recipes
Bourbon Coffee Cocktail
Valentine's Day can be a stinker if you're solo. But there's always booze! And chocolate! And good friends! This year I went in for all of that when I partnered with the lovely gents and cooking savants, @husbandsthatcook! I created two cocktails inspired by a homemade coffee liqueur I made recently and they created a mocha lava cake that is BEYOND.
Rob Roy Cocktail With Brandied Cherries
The Rob Roy, made with just scotch and sweet vermouth, is a variation on a Manhattan, but doesn't get nearly as much attention! While it isn’t always served as an “equal parts” drink, in Kara Newman's new cocktail book celebrating all things equal parts, Shake. Stir. Sip., she provides an equal parts recipe that works wonderfully.

Del Frisco’s Grille in Santa Monica, an off shoot of the famed Del Frisco’s Grille Double Eagle in NYC, had a preview of their new menu the other night...and I’m still thinking of that meal! New menu items include an elevated concept to mirror the legendary steaks, chops and appetizers including Bone in Ribeye, Coffee Roasted Pork Shank and Scallops. Everything we had was pretty great. But I think my absolute favorite of the night was actually an appetizer! The Artichoke Beignets ( an ode to the artichoke and the craw fish beignets of the south), were so aMAHzing. Featured here is the VIP cocktail, Del Frisco’s signature with pineapple infused vodka. Swipe through to see some more @dfgrille #FoodPorn!

When you have a cozy holiday shoot with sparkling wine and it’s 100 degrees in the shade. 😳
#FlashbackFriday, y'all! It was exactly a year ago this week that I had the opportunity to visit the heart of Cajun Country, Southwest Louisiana's beautiful Lake Charles area, and the Bayou Rum distillery. If you paid attention to my social media at that time, then you know what an incredible adventure that was. It has had me thinking about that wonderful trip last fall and how I've been wanting to share the experience on the blog ever since! From our carriage ride ghost tour through historic downtown Lake Charles to our Mardi Gras Museum visit, and the swamp tour with ALL the 'gators...I wanted to detail it all so maybe YOU could recreate this epic trip. Including a visit to see where "The Spirit of Louisiana" is made - @bayourum. Swipe through these pics to see a sampling of what's on the blog. And head to the post to read about it all! Tonight, The Spare Room in Hollywood hosted a Fernet Branca tasting event with Edoardo Branca, the sixth generation of the iconic Italian family. Branca led us on a tasting through limited vintages of Fernet-Branca from the 70s, 80s & today. My Italian relatives would be proud! Check out my #InstagramStory to see the #BTS
