For the Base
ingredients
- 1 cup all purpose flour
- 1/2 cup margarine
- 1/4 cup cane sugar
- pintch of salt
For the Filling
ingredients
- 2 cups fresh strawberries
- 7 ounces strawberry jam
- Basil, small bunch
For the Crumble top
ingredients
- 1 cup all purpose flour
- 1/2 cup rolled oats
- 1/4 cup cane sugar
- 1/2 cup margarine
- 1 juice and zest lime
Method
Step 1
To make the base, combine all the ingredients. Roll the dough out between to baking paper and place to the bottom of a baking tray. (leaving one paper on) Chill in the fridge for an hour.
Step 2
Preheat the oven for 340 degree F. Prick the dough with a fork then bake for 15 minutes. Remove from the oven cool down a bit.
Step 3
Wash the strawberries and cut into quarters. Spread the jam over the crusty base. Lay the fruits on top. Sprinkle with chopped basil leaves.
Step 4
Mix all the ingredients for the crumble top and scatter over the berries. Bake for 40 minutes on 350 degree F.
