ingredients

For the Cocktail:

  • 1 cup herbed watermelon juice, (recipe below)
  • 1 1/2 ounces vodka
  • Fresh basil sprigs, for garnish
  • Watermelon triangles, for garnish
  • Opal nugget ice from the GE Profile Opal Nugget Ice Maker, as needed

Method

For the Cocktail:

  • Step 1

    To a Collins glass add opal nugget ice leaving about 1-inch of room at the top. Pour watermelon juice and vodka into glass and stir to combine. Add more ice, garnish with watermelon triangle and basil and serve immediately.

For the Herbed Watermelon Juice:

  • 1/2 watermelon, rind removed and cut into large chunks
  • 2 sprigs fresh mint
  • 2 sprigs fresh basil
  • 2 limes, juiced
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt

For the Herbed Watermelon:

  • Step 1

    To a blender add all ingredients and blend until smooth. Set aside and use it to make cocktails.
