For the Turmeric Infused Gin
ingredients
- 1 liter gin
- 8 ounces fresh turmeric, peeled and sliced (about 1 cup)
For the Gimlet
ingredients
- 2 ounces turmeric-infused Gin, recipe below
- 3/4 ounce fresh lime juice
- 3/4 ounce simple syrup, recipe below
- Lemon, sliced, for garnish
For the Simple Syrup
ingredients
- 1 cup granulated sugar
To Make the Turmeric Infused Gin
Method
Step 1
Combine gin and sliced turmeric in a 64-ounce mason jar. Seal the lid and shake for 2 minutes. Let it steep for 48 hours in a cool dark area. Using a mesh strainer, strain gin, and reserve in an air-tight glass bottle.
To Make the Turmeric Gimlet
Step 1
Add turmeric-infused gin, lime juice and simple syrup to an ice-filled cocktail shaker. Close the shaker and shake vigorously for 2 minutes. Strain the cocktail into a chilled coupe glass with ice. Garnish with sliced lemon and serve immediately.
To Make the Simple Syrup
Step 1
In a quart-sized mason jar, add sugar and 1 cup of warm water. Close the lid and shake until the sugar has dissolved. Store in refrigerator and use as needed.
