ingredients
- 1 (~750 grams or 1.65 pounds) unsmoked gammon joint
- Glaze of your choice such as, honey, mustard, brown sugar, or maple syrup
Method
Step 1
Score the fat on top of the gammon joint in a crisscross pattern.
Step 2
Wrap the joint loosely in tin foil, ensuring the foil does not touch the fat to prevent sticking.
Step 3
Preheat the air fryer to 350°F.
Step 4
Place the wrapped gammon joint in the air fryer basket. Cook for 35 minutes.
Step 5
Remove the foil from the gammon joint. If using a glaze, brush it generously over the surface.
Step 6
Return the gammon to the air fryer and cook uncovered for an additional 22 minutes.
Step 7
Ensure the ham is cooked through, with clear juices running from the meat. Use a meat thermometer to check the internal temperature, which should be 145°F for safe consumption.
Step 8
Allow the ham to cool slightly before slicing into thick or thin slices, depending on preference.
