Basil Sauce

  • 1 cup fresh basil, torn
  • 1 clove garlic, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil

Skewers

  • 1 15 ounce package Crave House Plant-Based Italian-Style Sausages, cut into thirds
  • 2 bell peppers (green, red, yellow or orange), seeded and cut into 1 inch pieces
  • 1 large onion, peeled and cut into 1 inch pieces
  • 8 ounces grape or cherry tomatoes
  • 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
  • Kosher salt and pepper

Method

Basil Sauce

  • Step 1

    Combine all ingredients in a mini prep or blender. Blend until emulsified and smooth.

Skewers

  • Step 1

    Heat grill to med/high heat. Thread alternating pieces of sausage, peppers, tomato, and onion on skewers.

  • Step 2

    Drizzle skewers with olive oil and season with salt and pepper.

  • Step 3

    Grill, turning once, until sausage is cooked through and vegetables are softened and slightly charred, about 20 mins.

  • Step 4

    Serve the skewers hot off the grill drizzled with the basil sauce, with extra sauce reserved for dipping.
