Homemade Cough Syrup

"So tired of changing weather and doctor visits, I used mom's recipe to make my own cough syrup that can be used by both children and adults. And has proved to be quite effective in last few days. A rebel that I am, I now despise myself for not using this recipe before??. Very simple to make at home with just 3 ingredients possibly found in everyone's home- Boil in two cups of water 1 inch grated ginger, a zest of one lemon and juice from half a lemon. Cook for 3-4 mins. Strain and let cool. Add 3 tbsps of raw honey (I used @balqeesrawhoney), stir in. Only add honey after the concoction has cooled down completely. Use a tsp every 2 hours. Rundown on ingredients- Ginger act as natural decongestant. Honey calm the cough by soothing the throat. And due to high vitamin C content in lemon, it is beneficial for combating cold."
