Hazelnut Brownies
Ingredients:
125 grams butter
1 1/3 cups semi sweet OR dark chocolate,chopped
1 cup semi sweet chocolate chips OR dark chocolate OR hazelnut chocolate, chopped
250 ml castor sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
170 ml OR 1/2 cup and 3 Tbsp all purpose flour
2 Tbsp cocoa powder
2 eggs
1 Tbsp coffee (or 1/2 TBSP if your coffee is very strong)
Directions:
Preheat your oven to 350F (180C). Grease and line a 20 x 20 cm baking tin.
Melt the 1 1/3 cups of chocolate and butter over a double boiler or in the microwave. Mix well with a whisk to combine. Mix in the sugar, vanilla, flour, cocoa, coffee and then once cool enough, the eggs. Mix until smooth and glossy.
Add in the remaining 1 cup of chocolate chips or chopped chocolate and mix. Pour into the prepared baking tin. Bake for 30 minutes or until done. If you'd like them less gooey and more cake-like, add an extra tablespoon or two of flour, or bake for longer. Leave to cool and then cut into 12 squares.
Optional: Replace some chocolate chips from the remaining lot with dates. Serve with camel milk vanilla ice cream or hazelnut ice cream.
