Berry Stuffed Croissant Pinwheels

Ingredients:
1 package croissant dough(usually in the dairy section)<br>
1/2 cup blueberries
1/2 cup raspberries
1 teaspoon lemon juice
1/2 teaspoon sugar
1/4 cup sliced almonds, optional
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
Mash berries with sugar and lemon juice with a fork and allow to sit while you prepare the dough.
Roll croissant dough into a large, flat rectangle.
Spread the mashed berries onto the dough, evenly coating the entire rectangle.
Using a pizza cutter, cut the rectangle into long strips that are about 1.5 inches in width.
Take the strips of croissant, and twist each one by twirling the ends, creating a ribbon effect.
Form ribbons into circles and tuck ends under. Place on a parchment lined baking sheet and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown, adding almonds halfway through, if desired. <br>
