ingredients

  • 2 1/2 cups All-Purpose Flour
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 2 1/4 teaspoon Instant Yeast
  • 1 cup 120 Degree Water
  • 2 tabelspoons Olive Oil
  • 1 cup Pizza Sauce
  • 1 cup Ricotta Cheese
  • Toppings of Your Choice
  • 1 tablespoon Parmesan Cheese

Method

  • Step 1

In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, salt, and yeast. Add in the 120 degree water and olive oil - stir to combine.

  • Step 2

Knead for 5 minutes and place in a large greased bowl, covered with plastic wrap. Place in a warm spot to rise for 1 hour.

  • Step 3

Once the dough has risen, divide it into four balls. Preheat your oven to 400 degrees. On a lightly floured surface, roll out your first dough ball into a circle - about 1/4 inch thick. Spoon 1/4 cup of the pizza sauce on one half of the dough - leaving about 1 inch of empty space around the diameter. Top this with 1/4 cup of the ricotta cheese, 1/4 cup of the mozzarella, and your favorite toppings.

  • Step 4

Fold the other half of the dough over the toppings to create a crescent shape. Fold the edges over themselves, and use a fork to crimp them shut. Transfer your calzone to a greased and lightly floured baking sheet.

  • Step 5

Repeat these steps with each dough ball.

  • Step 6

Brush the tops of each calzone with olive oil, and sprinkle on the parmesan cheese and Italian seasoning. Bake for 25-30 minutes and enjoy!
