This spring, #TeamFeedfeed traveled to sunny Los Angeles where we hosted an amazing luncheon to highlight vibrant seasonal produce from CA Grown and to celebrate Husbands That Cook's newly launched book.

Adam and Ryan, co-authors of Husbands That Cook, welcomed guests into their beautiful home for a spring luncheon bursting with vibrant seasonal produce grown in California, gorgeous flowers, and wonderful company. All were eager to experience the freshly prepared dishes, both savory and sweet!

The setting was Adam and Ryan’s very own breathtaking backyard overlooking the city, filled with beautiful flowers and plants. They have many trails with fruit trees, herb bushes, huge succulents and monumental blue agave plants (I was so tempted to take some succulents back to New York with me!). It was a perfect day filled with lots of sunshine, birds chirping happily and great company. The wonderful and gracious co-host Rebecca Firth, who is a long time friend of Feedfeed and Husbands That Cook, arrived early to welcome the guests and share a few appetizers and salads.

Event hosts included (l. to r.) Adam of Husbands That Cook, co-host Rebecca Firth, Feedfeed co-founders Dan and Julie Resnick, Rachel Gurjar, Giora Stuchiner, and Lauren Resnick of Feedfeed, co-host Aliza Sokolow, and Ryan of Husbands That Cook.

The menu consisted of items made entirely from the Husbands That Cook book with California Grown fruits and vegetables that we sourced from farmers markets across Los Angeles. Upon arrival, guests enjoyed two cocktails; a Tropical Rum Punch and Strawberry Sangria Sparkler, which were fruity and refreshing.

Co-host Rebecca Firth (displacedhousewife on Instagram) arrived early to welcome guests with shared appetizers and salads (shown above).

We watched co-host Aliza Sokolow in action as she brought to life a stunning crudités board with the most colorful, seasonal and unique produce accompanied by a striking beet hummus. Our community members also enjoyed some scrumptious hors d’ oeuvres which included Kale Bites and Heirloom Tomatoes and Wild Mushroom Bruschetta.

Food stylist and photographer, Aliza Sokolow created this captivating crudité board with a stunning array or seasonal produce grown in California. At the center of it is a vibrant beet hummus, ready for dipping!

The food was served family style, and included Spanakopita Quiche, Kale Quinoa Tabouleh, Moroccan Fattoush Salad, Vegetarian Paella, Roasted Broccolini Limone and Life Changing Cornbread. Diana from Resendiz Brothers decorated the table with the most gorgeous and exotic floral arrangements.

Diana from Resendiz Brothers provided a warm welcome for guests with striking floral arrangements. Guests even had the opportunity to create their own bouquets during an interactive demo led by Diana!

She then led a flower demo and workshop where each guest created their own unique bouquet from a plethora of flowers. Dessert was a sweet affair which included Trifle with Kiwi, Fresh Strawberries, No-Bake Cherry Cheesecake Parfait and three mouth-watering cakes made by co-host Laurel Gallucci of Sweet Laurel Bakery.

Trifles, parfaits, and Sweet Laurel Bakery's cakes, oh my! These desserts were (somehow) even more delicious than they were breathtaking. This gorgeous dessert table certainly takes the cake, and was the cherry on top of a perfect, sunny California day.
Everyone went home with goodie bags filled with a gorgeous display of CA Grown produce which they got to pick themselves! It also included wines from California Wine Institute, honey from California Bee Keepers Association, and olive oil from California Olive Oil Council. A big thank you for providing these gifts for the guests to enjoy! A perfect day and the perfect way to show off the amazing bounty that grows in the great state of California.
Who doesn't love a goodie bag? Especially when it's bursting with fresh CA Grown produce, wine, honey, and olive oil!
