ingredients
- 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoon + 1/2 cup of granulated sugar, divided
- 1/2 cup cold vegan butter, cut into small cubes
- 1 cup rolled oats
- 2 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 cup dried cranberries
- 6 apples, peeled and chopped
Method
Step 1
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
Step 2
In a large bowl, use a pastry cutter or knife to cut the flour, brown sugar, salt, and 2 tablespoons of sugar into the margarine, until it becomes coarse. Add the oats and mix together by hand into pebble sized pieces. Put the bowl in the freezer.
Step 3
Mix the lemon juice, cinnamon, dried cranberries, and remaining sugar in a bowl with the chopped apples.
Step 4
Pour the apple mixture into a baking dish and sprinkle the frozen topping thoroughly across the top. Place in the oven and bake for 55-65 minutes.
