This cheese garlic bread is filled with melted cheese and would be a delicious addition to any menu. Serve this as an appetizer or a game day snack!
For the Bread
- 1 cup whole wheat flour
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2/ 3 cup warm water
- 2 tablespoons butter, softened
- 1/ 2 teaspoon instant dry yeast
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1/ 4 teaspoon salt
Cheese Burst Filling
- 1/ 4 cup cheese, of choice
- 3 teaspoons milk
- 2 tablepoons melted butter
- 3 cloves garlic
- cilantro leaves, as desired
- Chili Flakes, as desired
Take flour and make a well in the center in this well add instant yeast and sugar. Now sprinkle some warm water along with sugar and start kneading the dough. When the dough comes together. Add softened butter. Make sure that your butter is soft and start slowly incorporating the butter into the dough. At this stage you can also add the salt. When dough comes together Cover the dough and rested for five to seven minutes and then start needing it again.
At this point you need to ferment the dough. Take a greased bowl and place dough onto it. And let it ferment until the dough doubles. This time may vary depending on the temperature of your kitchen.
Now for cheese burst, take the cheese and milk and microwave it for about 30 seconds, mix it up and just keep it aside. Make sure you do this just before you're going to use the filling.
Just lightly punch out the air so that the dough again deflates at this point you divided into four pieces. This depends on the size of bread you want to make.
Now roll the dough. Make sure not to roll it super thin, but also don't roll it super thick.
You can use some dry flour to roll the dough. Now transfer it onto a parchment paper. Sprinkle some flour. Just ensure that the dough is even.
Prick the dough and spread the cheese mixture on to the bread dough. While spreading don't spread it all through to the end, leave about an inch of space from the edge. Cover this with the second piece of dough.
Start pinching the edges and making sure that it gets sealed. Now cover it and keep it aside for fermenting.
Now for garlic butter for the garlic butter. Take some melted butter, add some grated garlic, coriander and some chili flakes. Mix it all up.
After 90 minutes bread must be ready and brush it generously with the garlic butter. Just ensure that you have brushed it all over.
Now it's time to bake it and bake it in a preheated oven at 400 degrees F for nearly 20 minutes with top and bottom rod on. Bake in the middle rack
