ingredients

  • 1/3 cup milk
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons maple extract
  • 2/3 cup unsalted butter
  • 2/3 cup sugar
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/4 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • Powdered sugar, for dusting

Method

  • Step 1

Preheat oven to 350ºF. Grease a madeleine pan.

  • Step 2

Mix milk and maple extract in a small bowl. Beat butter and sugar in a stand mixer on medium-high speed until light and fluffy, about 3 minutes. Add the eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Reduce speed to low and add remaining ingredients. Mix until just incorporated, scraping the bowl often.

  • Step 3

Divide batter into prepared pan. Tap the pan firmly a few times on the countertop to remove air bubbles. Bake for 20 minutes, until toothpick inserted into center comes out clean.
