ingredients
- 1 (14 ounce) can condensed milk
- 1/3 cup heavy cream
- 3 tablespoons cocoa powder
- 2 tablespoons salted butter
ingredients
Topping
- 1/4 cup crushed hazelnuts
Method
Step 1
Combine the condensed milk and heavy cream in a heavy-bottomed skillet or saucepan over medium heat. Cook the mixture until heated through. Stir in the cocoa powder and butter.
Step 2
Cook until thickened, about 15 to 20 minutes. Stir and scrape the bottom of the pan constantly to prevent the mixture from burning and sticking.
Step 3
Your mixture is ready when it holds its form and you can see the bottom of the pan for 2 to 3 seconds when you drag your spatula through.
Step 4
Turn the mixture out on a lightly greased plate, cover with plastic wrap and let it cool at room temperature for at least 1 hour.
Step 5
Portion out 1 tablespoon of the mixture and flatten it out into a 3-inch disc (grease your hands lightly to prevent it from sticking).
Step 6
Place ½ teaspoon of Nutella® in the center. Fold the Brigadeiro in half and seal the edges.
Step 7
Shape the Brigadeiro into a ball and roll the ball into the crushed hazelnuts.
Step 8
Serve the Brigadeiors immediately or store them in the refrigerator in an airtight container for up to 1 week.
