Honey Lemon Cough Drops

(36)

Recipe Intro From lilsipper

Most if not all throat drops contain fake sweeteners (including stevia! - if you don’t know why I avoid stevia then check my podcast), flavorings, gums, and colorants. So what do yu do?

MAKE YOUR OWN! - In order to do this, you must have gelatin. I have been using @furtherfood’s pure grass-fed gelatin (code: LILSIPPER) for 3+ years because I know they test for lead and heavy metals, toxins, mold, and it’s 100% pork free.

ingredients

  • 1 cup filtered water
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • Juice from 1/2 lemon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger powder
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons grass fed gelatin, plus ⅓ cup water

Method

  • Step 1

Add first 4 ingredients to a small saucepan over low heat. In a small dish, add gelatin to 1/3 cup water and allow it to “bloom” for 2 minutes. Add that to the saucepan and stir for another minute.

  • Step 2

Transfer mixture into silicone molds (or you can pour it all in a glass dish if you don’t have molds). Refrigerate for 3 hours or until firm.

  • Step 3

Remove from molds (or slice into cubes if using one glass dish). Store in the refrigerator or freezer and use as needed.
