There are few foods that are as satisfying as good bread - made from the simplest of ingredients, it has been nourishing societies for thousands of years. A food where the end product is reliant on the sum of using only the best possible ingredients that can be found.

We’ve seen more and more players enter the artisan bread industry - touting high quality ingredients & time honored traditions - but none have matched the staying power and consistency that La Brea Bakery has become known for. Founded in 1989 by Nancy Silverton in Los Angeles - La Brea Bakery has become a household name that is ubiquitous with high quality and consistency. To this day, they still use a slow rise method which allows for the slightly nutty aroma (fermentation!!), a tender interior and a crisp crust with just the right chew. Each bread starts with the same starter that was made back in 1989 by Nancy, herself.

We were excited to break bread with our San Francisco community and dine together at Trou Normand. Executive Chef Seth Stowaway and his team created a menu that brought to life the nuanced profile of the various types of La Brea Bakery Bread. From wheels of Winnimere cheese with toasted La Brea Bakery crostini to Cranberry Walnut Bread pudding - each course was a tour of how La Brea Bakery bread can extend beyond the simple morning routine & bring moments of excitement to your mealtime routines.

We’re fortunate enough to get to meet our communities in real life from all over the globe and the Bay Area community that joined us for dinner was especially incredible. As a food publication that brings people together around the table, and this night was up there with our most favorite to date - the creativity in the room was palpable and to enjoy such a special meal with so many exceptional people left us grinning ear to ear.

This holiday season, as you gather with your friends & family, be sure to celebrate with La Brea Bakery Bread and check out their artisanal Holiday Breads this year.
