A Note from Feedfeed

An appetizer that everyone will love, that is-if you love the combination of sweet and savory! Warm sweet figs and savory goat cheese hits all the right notes, top it off with toasted pinenuts for a subtle almond flavor and a drizzle of wildflower honey.

ingredients

  • 6 figs
  • 70 grams goat cheese
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 teaspoon dried sage
  • 2 teaspoons pine nuts
  • agave syrup or honey

Method

  • Step 1

Start by preheating the oven to 390°F or 200°C.

  • Step 2

Cut off the top part of the fig, where the stem used to be attached. Then cut the figs into quarters, but only cut them about 3/4 through so that they won’t fall apart.

  • Step 3

Crumble your goat cheese into smaller pieces and season it with the dried thyme and sage.

  • Step 4

Stuff the figs with the goat cheese, using your hands, or a spoon.

  • Step 5

Sprinkle the pine nuts on top of the goat cheese.

  • Step 6

Roast the figs in the oven for 5 to 10 minutes, depending on your oven. The sweet spot for mine was around 8 minutes.

  • Step 7

Take the figs out of the oven and finish the dish off by drizzling some agave syrup or honey over it.

  • Step 8

Serve the figs as an appetizer, or as snacks. Enjoy!
