ingredients
- 1 cup vegan milk
- 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
- 1 cup flour
- 1 cup cornstarch
- 1 heaping tablespoon baking powder
- 1 tablespoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 12 oyster mushrooms
- Oil, for frying
Method
Step 1
Whisk vegan milk and apple cider vinegar in a bowl. Set aside.
Step 2
In a separate bowl, combine all the dry ingredients. Add about 1/2 a cup of the dry ingredients to the milk mixture and mix. The batter should be smooth and runny but not watery.
Step 3
Heat oil over medium high heat until about 150c / 300f.
Step 4
Meanwhile dip mushrooms in the wet batter, then the flour mixture and make sure it’s evenly coated. Deep fry for about 3 minutes or until golden. Let cool.
Step 5
Serve with your favorite sauce & enjoy!
