ingredients
- 1 bunch trimmed broccolini
- 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
- 3 cloves of minced garlic
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- 1 cut into wedges lemon
- for garnish Parmesan cheese
- to taste salt and ground black pepper
Method
Step 1
Blanch the Broccolini: Bring a pot of salted water to a boil. Blanch the broccolini in the boiling water for about 3 minutes, then immediately transfer them to a bowl of ice water to stop the cooking process. Drain and pat dry with paper towels.
Step 2
Sauté Garlic and Red Pepper Flakes: Heat the extra virgin olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and red pepper flakes to the skillet, and sauté for about 1 minute, until the garlic becomes fragrant and lightly golden.
Step 3
Sauté the Broccolini: Add the blanched broccolini to the skillet. Sauté for 3-5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the Sauté is tender but still crisp.
Step 4
Season, Garnish and Serve: Season the broccolini with salt and ground black pepper to taste. Stir well to combine, making sure the garlic and red pepper flakes are evenly distributed. Squeeze some fresh lemon juice over the broccolini, for a bright finish. Garnish with grated Parmesan cheese. Remove the skillet from the heat and transfer the sautéed broccolini to a serving dish. Serve immediately as a delicious side dish alongside your favorite main course.
