Brownie Layer
- 1 1/4 cups all purpose flour
- 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
- 2/3 cup unsalted butter
- 4 eggs, at room temperature
- 9 ounces dark chocolate
- 1/4 cup heavy cream
- Pinch of sea salt

Cookie Layer
- 1 1/3 cups all purpose flour
- 2/3 cup brown sugar
- 1 egg, at room temperature
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 5 ounces dark chocolate chunks
Method
Step 1
Preheat the oven to 350°F
To make the brownie layer:
Step 1
Start by melting the butter and chocolate in a double boiler, then let it cool.
Step 2
In a separate bowl, whisk the eggs with the sugar until frothy. Add this mixture to the warm chocolate/butter mixture.
Step 3
Finish by adding the flour, cream, and sea salt.
Step 4
Pour into a 8x8 inch square baking pan and move on to the cookie layer.
To make the cookie layer:
Step 1
Whisk the melted butter with the sugar. Add the egg and mix to homogenize.
Step 2
Finish by adding the flour, baking powder and the chocolate in chunks.
Step 3
Using a tablespoon or ice cream scoop, place chunks of cookie dough on top of the brownie batter.
Step 4
Bake for 25 minutes.
Step 5
Allow to cool slightly before cutting and enjoying!
