Ingredient Notes
Macaroni noodles: Traditional elbow macaroni works best, but feel free to swap in any pasta shape you prefer, such as shells or penne.
Milk of choice: Whole milk will yield the creamiest result, but you can use any milk or dairy-free alternative depending on your dietary preferences.
Butter: Adds richness and helps create the creamy cheese sauce.
Greek yogurt: The secret ingredient for a tangy twist and extra creaminess! You can use full-fat or low-fat yogurt, but full-fat will make the sauce thicker.
Shredded cheese: Sharp cheddar is classic, but you can mix in mozzarella, gouda, or even a bit of Parmesan for added depth of flavor.
Italian panko breadcrumbs: These breadcrumbs create a crunchy topping, but you can use regular breadcrumbs or omit them if you prefer a smoother texture.
