ingredients

  • 1 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
  • all-spice, a pinch
  • 1/2 cup melted coconut oil
  • 3/4 cup dark brown sugar, packed
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup tahini
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 cup diced apples
  • 1/2 cup crumbled Halawa candy
  • 2 tablespoons raw cane sugar

Method

  • Step 1

Preheat oven to 425°, grease or line muffin tin.

  • Step 2

Combine dry ingredients and whisk. In another bowl, add your coconut oil, brown sugar, eggs, tahini, vanilla and milk; whisk to combine. Add your apples + Halawa pieces to flour mixture and finally fold in your wet ingredients to the dry. The batter will be thick, fold until all your pockets of dry ingredients are incorporated.

  • Step 3

Pour batter into prepared muffin tin to the top. Sprinkle tops with the raw cane sugar. Bake for 5 minutes at 425° then drop temperature to 350° and continue to bake for another 18-22 minutes, until centers come out clean. Remove, let cool for 5 minutes then transfer to cooling rack. Enjoy
