Recipe Intro From andrealoretdemola
This French 75 slushy is slightly boozier than the average brunch mimosa with the addition of gin and a quick swap of oranges for lemons. Both spirits lend themselves well to sugar and lemons so naturally they are the perfect pairing for a boozy weekend brunch. This cocktail recipe is inspired by The Smith, a casual American brasserie in New York City. The Smith is easily one of my favorite neighborhood spots for a quick brunch or dinner. I certainly don’t have an industrial-grade slushy machine like the restaurant, but I do have a high speed blender, which if you ask me, is a solid investment. If you don't have a high speed blender, I recommend working in batches and making 1-2 servings at a time OR opt for a food processor to make “snow” and then quickly pour and stir the ingredients into the shaved ice. Either way, you’re left with a bright, refreshing cocktail you’ll want to sip on before, during and after brunch this summer.
