Spicy Italian Sausage and Kale Pasta Bake

ingredients
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 1/2 pounds Italian Sausage
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup dry red wine
- 1 (24 ounce) jar your favorite pasta sauce
- 2 tablespoons hot sauce
- 4 cups torn kale
- 6 ounces softened cream cheese
- 1 pound penne or rigatoni pasta
- 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
Method
Step 1
Preheat oven to 350°F degrees.
Step 2
Heat the olive oil in a Dutch oven and cook the sausage, crumbling it into pieces. Cook until golden brown.
Step 3
Add garlic and cook for 1-2 minutes until fragrant, then deglaze with a splash of red wine making sure to scrape up all the brown bits from the bottom of the pot.
Step 4
Add a jar of your favorite pasta sauce and the Bomba sauce. Add kale and cook covered on low for 20 minutes.
Step 5
In the meantime, boil the pasta until al dente, reserve 1 cup of pasta water and drain.
Step 6
Add cream cheese to the sauce and mix well, then add cooked pasta and stir to coat evenly. Use the reserved pasta water to adjust the consistency.
Step 7
Top with mozzarella cheese and bake for about 30 minutes until the top is melted and bubbly. Serve hot!
