Recipe Intro From lisathompson
Making whipped honey is the perfect way to save your crystallized honey or elevate the flavor and texture of your liquid honey. Just add it to a mixer and whip on high for 5 minutes until it’s fluffy, creamy, and luxurious. The best part is that if your whipped honey separates over time, you can just whip it again or stir it with a knife to bring it together!

Whipped Honey Ingredients
Honey
Honey is the only ingredient you’ll need to make this whipped honey recipe (aka creamed honey recipe). Raw honey works better for this than heat-treated or pasteurized honey, but you can use any kind you can find at the grocery store.
Test Kitchen Notes
Quantity
The larger the quantity of honey, the longer you need to whip it. The whipping process should only take about 5 to 10 minutes. The honey will be white and fluffy when it's done.
Crystallization
If the honey is 100% crystallized, warm it up slightly so that it's easier to whip. Gently warm it up in the microwave or in some hot water until it becomes a little more liquidy.
Storage
Store your whipped honey in an airtight container. If it starts to separate, just mix it together with a knife or whip it again in your mixer!
FAQs
How do you use whipped honey?
You can use it just as you would use liquid honey. Spread it on bread and butter, use it on pancakes or with a charcuterie board, or just add it as a sweetener to tea or coffee. Our favorite cheese and honey recipes are whipped ricotta with honey or feta and parmesan-stuffed dates with honey. It also makes for a great gift for friends and family, just pour it into a jar and tie it with a bow or add a label!
What is the difference between whipped honey and honey?
Whipped honey has a creamier and lighter flavor than regular liquid honey because of the added air. It breaks up the sugar crystals in the honey, preventing crystallization and making it nice and creamy.
What is the purpose of whipped honey?
This can be a great way to save your crystallized honey or use up excess liquid honey. Whipping the honey turns it into a delicate, light, spreadable condiment that has a very long shelf life.
How long does whipped honey last?
Whipped honey will last just as long as regular honey. For the best flavor, keep it for up to 12 months. If it separates or crystallizes, you can just whip it again!
Do you refrigerate whipped honey?
Store it at room temperature in a sealed container for a more liquid consistency. Refrigerate it for a thicker consistency.
Method
Step 1
Add the honey to the bowl of a stand mixer, or use a large bowl and a hand mixer. If your honey has just started to crystallize, it’s okay to use it as is. If it is 100% crystallized, gently warm it up in the microwave or run it under some hot water until it becomes a little more liquid. This will make it easier to whip.
Step 2
Attach the whisk attachment and whip honey on high speed for 5-10 minutes, until light, white, and fluffy. The larger the quantity of honey, the longer you will need to whip it.
Step 3
Transfer whipped honey to a clean glass jar and store at room temperature. Re-whip or stir if separation occurs.
