Mushroom and Garlic Pasta

Serves or Makes: 3 - 4
- 1 (9 ounce) package fettuccine or other grain-free pasta
- 8 ounces mushrooms, cleaned and sliced
- 2 cups sugar-free marinara sauce
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon chili flakes
- 1 teaspoon salt
- Fresh basil, chopped
Cook pasta according to package directions, then set aside.
In a large cast-iron skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced mushrooms, and cook until they have softened. Add the minced garlic and cook until fragrant, approximately 30 seconds.
Next, stir in the marinara sauce, cooked pasta, chili flakes, and salt. Taste and adjust seasoning if needed, then remove from heat, stir in the fresh basil, and serve warm.
