This simple citrus forward cocktail pairs subtle gin with bold orange for a bright cocktail that's easy to mix anytime of the year.

ingredients

  • 2 oranges, juiced and pulp reserved
  • 1 lemon, juiced
  • 1 1/2 ounces gin
  • 2 tablepoons brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt
  • ice, to serve
  • Thyme sprigs, to garnish
  • Rosemary sprigs, to garnish

Method

  • Step 1

    In a small plate, combine the brown sugar and sea salt and mix together. Brush the rim of each glass with leftover orange pulp and dip into the sugar mix.

  • Step 2

    In a shaker or large glass, mix together the gin, lemon juice, and orange juice.

  • Step 3

    Place a generous amount of ice or one large whiskey ice cube in each glass and pour the mixed drink into each glass. Garnish with thyme or rosemary sprigs.
