Doesn't matter the occasion, these delicious Black Bean Burgers should always be on the menu. Made with black beans, almond meal, fresh cilantro and tons of spices, these patties are pack a punch of flavor. Serve on on a bun with your favorite toppings or as a side with rice or salad.

ingredients

  • 1 15 ounce can black beans
  • 1 cup almond meal
  • 1/2 cup corn
  • 1 medium sized onion, finely chopped
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 1 tablespoon fresh cilantro
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 1 tablespon olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon chili powder

Method

  • Step 1

    Prepare a baking sheet with parchment paper. Preheat oven to 350 F / 185 F.

  • Step 2

    In a frying pan, add the olive oil and heat to medium heat. Add the onions and garlic and fry until the onions are softened.

  • Step 3

    Add the cooked onions and garlic to medium bowl along with the black beans, tomato paste, corn, onion powder, garlic powder, smoked paprika powder, sea salt, chili powder.

  • Step 4

    Mix well, then add the almond meal and flower. If the mixture if too wet, add a little more breadcrumbs.

  • Step 5

    Form ½ - inch – thick patties. Place on the baking sheet. Bake for 35 – 40 minutes, flipping the burgers after 20 minutes. Top with your favorite garnish, like tomatoes, avocado, sprouts, pickle, ect.
