ingredients

  • 1 1/2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1 teaspoon dark soy sauce
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons mirin
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper, plus more to taste
  • 2 packages of frozen udon noodles
  • Avocado oil, as needed
  • 1/2 pound peeled and deveined shrimp
  • Kosher salt, to taste
  • 1 package Cascadian Farm Frozen Chinese Stir-Fry Blend Vegetables
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 tablespoons salted butter
  • Toasted sesame seeds (optional), for garnish

Method

  • Step 1

Combine the soy sauce, oyster sauce, dark soy sauce, sesame oil, mirin, brown sugar, and black pepper in a small bowl. Mix well and set aside.

  • Step 2

Place the frozen udon noodles in a heat-safe dish and pour boiling water over them to defrost and soften the noodles. Let them sit for about 5 minutes, then drain.

  • Step 3

Heat the avocado oil in a wok or large skillet over medium heat. Add the shrimp and season with salt and pepper. Cook until the shrimp turns just pink, about 2-3 minutes. Remove the shrimp from the pan and set aside.

  • Step 4

Add the frozen Cascadian Farm Chinese Stir-Fry Blend Vegetables to the wok and sauté for about 3 minutes. Add the minced garlic and cook for another minute.

  • Step 5

Return the shrimp to the pan, along with the drained udon noodles and the sauce. Stir-fry everything together for about 5 minutes, ensuring the noodles and shrimp are well coated in the sauce.

  • Step 6

Finally, melt in the butter and mix well until the noodles are well coated and glossy from the buttery sauce.

  • Step 7

Before serving, garnish with toasted sesame seeds.
