This Tomato & Harissa Gnocchi Bake is easy to make and is packed with flavor. The harissa adds a hint of spice, so if you're not into that, use less or omit entirely.

ingredients
- 500 grams gnocchi
- 2 tablespoons oil
- 1 small onion
- 1 teaspoon garlic paste
- 1 chopped red chili
- 1 cup tomato passata
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 1/2 tablespoons harissa paste
- 1/2 cup mascarpone cheese
- Mozzarella cheese
- Parsley, to garnish
Method
Step 1
Sauté onion in oil for 2-3 minutes.
Step 2
Add garlic paste/fresh garlic, chopped red chili and seasonings, sauté for a further 1-2 minutes.
Step 3
Add tomato passata, harissa paste and mascarpone. Stir well to combine all ingredients. Allow to cook in medium heat for 4-5 minutes. Add a little water to loosen if becomes too thick.
Step 4
Cook gnocchi according to packet instructions (boil for 2-3 minutes until gnocchi start to float and drain).
Step 5
Add cooked gnocchi into sauce then transfer into an oven proof dish. Top with chunks of mozarella and a few leaves of parsley (or basil if you have it to hand).
Step 6
Bake in a preheated oven on the top shelf at 180C/350F till golden and bubbly (approx 15 minutes).
