For the Carrot Salad:

  • 4 medium carrots
  • 2 1/2 tablespoons sesame oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 2 - 4 tablespoons toasted sesame seeds, to taste
  • Julienne peeler (or sharp knife to slice thinly)

Method

  • Step 1

    Wash, peel, and julienne the carrots using a julienne peeler or cut them into thin matchsticks.

  • Step 2

    Toss the carrots in a bowl with sesame oil, black pepper, and sesame seeds. Taste and adjust seasoning as needed.

  • Step 3

    Just before serving, sprinkle a little extra sesame seed on top for added crunch and presentation. Serve immediately or chill in the fridge for 15–20 minutes to let the flavors mingle.
